Dr. Khalil Hassan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Japan attended the Akasaka Hikawa festival. It is Japanese tradition to carry the Mikoshi (a portable shrine) throughout the street. This allows a blessing from deities to spread out its community and deities may revitalize their power. The Mikoshi carrying is organized by many local peoples of various ages also plays an important role for the community’s reactivation and the traditional succession. During the three days of festival, bon-dancing and street stalls were demonstrated.
