December 4-5, 2014: Diplomat’s Study Tour to Koya Town, Wakayama Prefecture

H.E. Dr. Khalil Hassan, the Ambassador, along with Ambassadors in Tokyo joined Diplomat’s Study Tour to Koya Town, Wakayama Prefecture organized jointly by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Koya Town from December 4 to 5, 2014. Koya Town has developed its unique history over a thousand years especially with Buddhism. In Koyasan, the sacred mountain, the renowned monk, Kobo Daishi founded a temple in 816. Koyasan was registered through UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2004. This tour provided participants with its rich culture and history by visiting historical sites.
